Volunteers play a huge role in helping the community not just for Christmas in Action but the entire city. Without the time, talents and love of volunteers we would be at a standstill. They are vital to a non-profits success.
Volunteers are not an extra part of our mission—they are how our mission happens. Our mission depends on volunteers. Every repaired roof, safe ramp, and warm home exists because people choose to serve. Without volunteers, homes go unrepaired. With volunteers, lives are changed. They are the hands that turn our mission into reality. Christmas in Action is neighbors helping neighbors—volunteers are the heart of everything we do. We are called to serve, and our volunteers are the living expression of that calling—bringing compassion to life through action.

We expand media coverage, and post volunteer groups on social media. Volunteers are the biggest asset a non-profit and the community can access. The impact is huge to the homeowners and to the volunteers. Something we take for granted makes a huge impact of a disabled homeowner that cannot physically or financially do the repairs themselves. it give them hope and to have faith.

If anyone would like to volunteer a group to do a project, just call, a list will be provided of volunteer projects. If you see a project you want to do.. A date can be set, Christmas in Action has tools, (or you can use your own) and give us a list of the supplies you need and Christmas in Action will purchase them for the job. (Sometimes businesses or organizations purchase the supplies as a donation but it is not something you have to do.) Do what you know how to do. If there is something on the list you do not know how to do, you can leave it for another group.

No not really, sometimes a job can be just as simple as installing a grab bar, or changing filters or light bulbs. Bigger projects are building a deck or ramp for a handicapped homeowner. Yard work and clean up is simple project and such a blessing for the homeowners
We can walk you through the process. We do have orientation training and a booklet that will answer most of the questions. We are either on site or a phone call away to help with the unexpected.
