Christmas in Action works with local community groups, contractors, friends and families to identify the seniors, veterans and disabled homeowners in Wichita County who cannot either financially or physically make necessary repairs to their homes. These repairs allow the homeowners to remain in their homes which is where they want to be: Safer, warmer and independently. Our Director works closely with licensed and insured contractors to perform needed repairs. Volunteers, when available provide low to moderate level repairs including interior and exterior painting, siding repair, handrail installation, grab bars, weatherization and drywall repairs to name just a few. Repairs completed by licensed contractors may include the following:

Repair or replace heating units

Replacing thermostats

Hot water heater replacements

Attic insulation

Repair or replace deteriorated roofs

Repair or replace sewer lines

Minor plumbing repairs

Minor electrical repairs

Repair or replace steps

Adding grab bars

Doors

Install handicap ramps

Structural work, like adding a wall or adding a carport

Foundations/House leveling

Windows

Chimney repairs

Asbestos removal or repair

Appliances

Housekeeping
